Extremadura is well known because of its variety of nature, especially with respect to birds.
Of our region is 70% of its surface Nature2000 area.
Our house is situated in the center part of the Geopark Villuercas-Ibores-Jara, with caves with prehistorical rock carvings, fossils, impressive geological formations, abandoned mines, quiet roads, clear waters, dark nights with superb view of the galaxy.
Most villages are small and people live here with traditional agriculture, with their sheep and goats, their olive yards and chestnut and cherry trees.
Direct from home you can walk undisturbed for hours, enjoying the clean air and fantastic views. Not exceptional will be an encounter with Roe or Red Deer, Fox, Fish Otter or Badger.
From the Geopark more natural areas are within easy reach, for example:
Monfragüe National Park, with its beautiful geological formations and its famous Vulture colonies: 70 km
La Serena, enormous steppe area with numerous species of birds: 75 km
